Google Shaves Off A Function

29th November 2006

Google has announced that it will stop taking questions at Google Answers later this week.  The previously posted Q & A’s will still be available to browse.  Google plans to stop taking answers to questions by the end of the year.

Google Answers was one of the first projects that the company created, and was based on an idea from Larry Page.

You know, what really cracks me up is that I put together the first one of all of these “answering” websites, way before Google, MSN, AskAnExpert.com, etc. but I did not carry forward because I didn’t have any funding and it did require some funding and a lot of free time to develop.

Now I see all these that came after fumbling, one after the other, because they still haven’t figured out how to make money out of it! LOL But I know ;) One day, I guess, I will have to start hacking at it again.
